On the walkway above Opunake Main Beach leading towards the Reef Point lookout some very hard working locals have been creating these amazing plantings to restore beauty to an area that was severely damaged when the Council removed all the large trees last year. Work is steady and gradually the garden plantings are reaching further and further along the path. Now the plants are being given a mulch blanket for the harsh winter conditions ahead.
