Opunake Main Beach
A restless night, too hot, too cold, tossing and turning physically and mentally. The effort to get up and get going rewarded by scenes like this as the world wakes up. All the unsettled feeling of the night washes away and the day is set right on its' axis. What an amazing luxury to live surrounded by such sights, free to walk without threat or fear, in peace. Feeling the terrible trauma of the Fort McMurray residents who have had to leave everything behind. Amazing that the human death toll is so low. The true Canadian spirit shows itself in the evacuation process - considerate of everyone, law abiding. A wonderful nation - what an horrendous experience for them. The power of nature remains over mankind.
