Such an amazingly accessible simple thing for so many of us fortunate Kiwis - being able to freely walk on a local beach. The magic of the power of nature comes home to me here - I walk and on the next passage of the wave over that place - all trace of my walking is gone. The beach has been affected by storm action this past week and the storm is still not gone. Former sand dunes and pathways have been removed by this storm. Material has been removed and other objects left behind as the waves reclaim the shoreline. So how insignificant are my little footprints.
