The wonder of organic forms 25/07/2016

I have started a new body of work that uses my primary practice of weaving with organically dyed fabric fields. There is an immediate tension in my making that I have struggled with for many years now - the traditional rigidity of loom based weaving. The linear nature of the process with horizontals and verticals is entrenched in my mind in connection with the act of weaving. It is requiring a massive disconnect from this grounding to engage in an organic, freeform process. I am struggling with this and sights of the beauty of imbalance in nature is the inspiration I need to draw on to drive this work forward.
