Seasonal changes 17/05/2016

Middleton Bay

The long summer is ending and this morning there is a wild wild sea and an ominous sky.  Living on the west coast of New Zealand this wildness is to be expected, it is timely and because of that it is welcome. To think of this location not experiencing the wild would be to castrate it. The constant change created by such weather is part of the reward to those of us lucky enough to live here. Now I have to shift my life pattern to allow for the sea often becoming too rough to safely enter. Memories can fill the gap to some extent but the physical benefits of being in the ocean regularly are hard to replicate. Something to ponder as the season changes.
